I love to think about the scenes in Revelation 4. When I had carpet replaced in an old mobile that I bought, I chose emerald green. I wanted to be reminded of the emerald like rainbow around His throne each time I vacuumed. 

All throughout Revelation John used like, then gave a description. Verse 1 says that a voice came that sounded like a trumpet. I recently attended a brass concert at our church. I can’t imagine distinguishing words coming out of a trumpet. 

Next John described the Lord’s appearance as jasper and sardius. Regarding New Jerusalem, Revelation 21:18 says, “The construction of the wall was of jasper…” Jasper was brilliant and transparent. 

Verse 5 reminds me of when God was on the mountain and it thundered. It says, “And from the throne proceeded lightning, thunderings, and voices…” Picture this in verse 6. It says that in front of the throne was a sea of glass, like crystal.
