In Romans 1:16 Paul says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…” In the next verse he explained a key principle. It says, “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith…” 

Paul finished the verse by quoting an Old Testament verse from Habakkuk 2:4. It says, “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; for the just shall live by his faith.” All through the Old Testament and the New, salvation is the same ~ it requires faith. 

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 1 Peter 1:8 says, “Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.” Faith is rooted in One who is Trustworthy.
