Courage To Stand~Part One

In Acts 24:16 Paul said, “…I always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” Paul was a man of unswayable convictions. Remember when Festus said, “…Much learning is driving you mad!” Paul calmly answered, “…I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak the words of truth and reason.” Acts 26:24-25.

In 2 Timothy 1:12 he wrote, “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”

When the Ephesians elders tried to persuade him to not go to Jerusalem, he stood firm in the courage of his convictions. Though he knew that chains and tribulations awaited him, he proclaimed, “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy…” Acts 20:23-24. 2 Timothy 4:7 says “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
