The Power Of Crying Out~Part Two

We cry out because we have One who always hears. Psalm 16:6 says, “I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God…” Psalm 34:17 says, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

In Psalm 55:17, David wrote, “Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 18:6 says, “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears.”

I love these verses. Crying out comes from a heart that knows unless the Lord intervenes, there is no hope. Psalm 61:1 says, “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You…” Are you in desperate straits? Cry out! We demonstrate where our trust is when we cry out.

Throne Room Prayers~Part Two

Let’s go back to the parable. The publican came in humility. Luke 18:13 says that he didn’t even lift up his head. He said, “…God, be merciful to me a sinner!” Verse 14 was Jesus’ words. “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified…who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I love Psalm 63:1. I imagine David in the throne room. It says, “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”

Psalm 55 is another David-psalm. Verse 17-18 says, “Evening and morning and noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me.” Let’s go into the throne room and spend time with the Giver of Grace.

God Watches Our Hearts~Part Three

Philippians 1:27 says, “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel.”

God’s goal is that we represent Him in every aspect of our lives. David wrote Psalm 86. Verses 11-12 say, “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart…” David was asking the Lord to make him wholehearted and single minded. What an example for us.

James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” It is good to sit before the Lord and be real. He sees right through any act. He is looking for those whose heart is loyal to Him.
