Remain Steadfast

Revelation 3:2 says, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.”

Hebrews 12:27 says, “Now this, Yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”

The above two verses bring us into focus, as everything in our world is shaking around us. Take personal inventory. How is your heart? Are you being shaken by the news of the spread of the C virus?

Psalm 112:7-8 says, “He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; he will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.”

No matter what dire straights the news predicts about the C virus , our heart will remain steadfast as we trust the Lord. He will keep us from the fear that seeks to suck us in because His abiding peace dwells within us.

1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Hebrews 3:14 says, “For we have become partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.” The One who lives within us is: unshakable, impenetrable, All Powerful, Ever Present. Nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37).

Therefore He secures our heart when evil tidings come because we are partakers of His very nature (2 Peter 1:4). We stand steadfast in His promises, allowing them to stabilize our hearts in these world-shaking events.

Faith comes by hearing His word. As we renew our minds, we strengthen our faith by bringing His word into our heart. I encourage you to remain steadfast and not allow what you hear to shake you–but to ground you deeply in His word that is Eternal.
