A Seeking Heart

Acts 17:28 is a verse that has always astounded me. It says, “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.” It is so all conclusive. We are living right now in His pre-appointed time for us. Even with COVID. The ‘why’ is answered in verse 29.

“So that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.”

Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

We are to have no other little ‘g’ gods, because there is only one True God. David had a seeking heart. Psalm 27:8 says, “When You said, Seek My face, my 💜 said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

I love his words in Psalm 63:1 which says, “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You…” Verse 8 in the Amplified says, “My whole being follows hard after You…”

Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first…” That is the priority. What? The kingdom of God, or His rulership in our heart. Why? It will bring us into His righteousness. Our thoughts, purpose, and actions will be conformed to His will. The result? That puts us in a position for Him to meet our other needs.

Psalm 34:10 says, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”

It is time to consider our lives. That is what the prophet Haggai said to the people who left their priority. They had stopped doing what the Lord had called them to do. Verse 7 says, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways!”
