I think one of the strongest lies the enemy uses is against ourselves. What does your heart believe about you? When our belief is based on what God has said in His word, our heart will resonate with that truth.
We are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). Our heart has the capacity to think, feel, and choose. How does God think about us? Psalm 139:17 says, “How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
How does He feel about us? Jeremiah 31:3 says, “…I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
When did He choose us? Ephesians 1:4 says, “Just as He chose us before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”
The Lord created us for a fulfilling relationship with Him. He, our Creator, has brought us near to commune with Him Heart to heart, and Spirit to spirit.
Self-hatred and self-rejection oppose God’s thoughts, His desires, and His choices for us. Any thought against ourselves is a lie from the devil. He hates us because we are made in the image of God. The enemy will do anything he can to turn us away from pursuing the Lord through intimate communion.
Fiery dart-lies are strategically targeted. They come in the first person so we will believe that they are our thoughts. Not! Do not receive them, nor give them another thought. Our thoughts, feelings, and choices are designed so that our heart has the capacity to wholeheartedly worship the Lord.
