Psalm 97:9 says, “For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.” Psalm 103:19 says, “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.”
Philippians 2:10-11 are inescapable words. They say, “That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Each time I read 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 I marvel. You can read them for yourselves. Verse 28 says, “Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.”
When we add His attribute of Sovereign Ruler Over All into our prayer, we are speaking irrefutable truth. There is no wiggle room. We are all under His sovereignty.
Isaiah 40:23 says, “He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless.” Daniel 1:21-22 says, “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in darkness, and light dwells with Him.”
I encourage you, that as you pray for our nation and the world, and for the answers to this pandemic, to add in the verses about His sovereignty. He is the final word in all things. 1 Corinthians 15:24 says, “Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.”
