Isaiah 45 started out with these words in verse 1. “Thus says the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held…” God chose a pagan king for His purpose at that time.
His choice of words have always intrigued me. I titled my first book from verse 3. Verses 3-4 say, “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places…”
The world is FULL of treasures. The souls of the unbelievers are imprisoned and shackled with sin-bars of iron so that they can’t escape. Isaiah 61:1 says of the Lord, “…to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
We are the Lord’s anointed ones. He called us out of darkness. He broke the chains of sin that bound us. We were captive to satan, but our Redeemer bought us off his slave block for His purpose in this time.
We have been freed that we might bring a message of hope through the gospel. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…”
We are in a season that has shaken the world. People are looking for answers. We are ambassadors. We are the Lord’s representatives. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
