Ephesians 2:1 accurately described our condition before salvation. We were spiritually dead. No stimulus can cause anything dead to respond. Therefore why couldn’t we respond? We were alienated, or cut off from the life of God; our hearts were dark; our thoughts were futile, we were lost and condemned; we were slaves of uncleanness.
Verse 2-3 says that we were controlled by the prince of the power of the air. We lived in the lusts of our flesh. We were by nature children of wrath. BUT, verse 3 says, “…God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.” In His mercy and love He made a way for us to enter into eternal life with Him.
Psalm 103:10 says, “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.” Why? Isaiah 53:12 says, “…Because He poured out His soul until death, He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Psalm 145:1-3 says, “I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.”
Romans 11:33 says, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!”
