Resisting The Lure Of Temptations~Part Two

Remember from Hebrews 4:15 that Jesus was tempted just as we are. Isaiah 53:3 says, “He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief…”

Isaiah 53:7 says, “He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.”

Isaiah 53:11 says of God the Father, “He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.” Iniquity is doing anything independent of the Lord. John 15:5.

Yielding to a temptation means we have to do it all alone. We will knowingly act apart from the Lord. That alone is a truth that will empower us to repel ourselves away from the lure.

Are you laboring under oppressive thoughts? Matthew 11:28 is Jesus’ invitation. It says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
