Proverbs 3:21 says, “My son, let them not depart from your eyes—keep sound wisdom and discretion.…” Read through verse 24. Psalm 112:5 says, “A good man deals graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion.”
One way that I pray for myself every day, “Lord help me see beyond the visible, the obvious, and the obstacles. Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus that the eyes of their understanding would be opened. Ephesians 1:18.
For the church in Colosse he prayed that they would be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Colossians 1:9. For the church in Philippi he prayed that their love would abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment. Philippians 1:10.
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” In Proverbs 2:3 King Solomon instructed his son to cry out for discernment and to lift up his voice for understanding. We do well to make them our cry also.
