Isaiah 28:10 says, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” As we daily read God’s word for understanding, we are fortifying our strong foundation.

1 Corinthians 3:10 says, “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.”

Then Paul gave the building materials. Verse 12 says, “Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, have, straw.” Psalm 19:7-9 described God’s word. It is perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, true, and righteous. Verse 11 says, “Moreover by them is Your servant warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.”

John 14:21 says that we show our love to the Lord by keeping His word. The reward is, “…I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” The Lord reveals His nature, His ways, and His character to us through His word. Keeping means to obey.
