This morning I woke up with two verses: Hebrews 10:1-4 was speaking about how the sacrifices could not take away sin. If they had, there would have been verse 2 says, “…no more consciousness of sins.”
Numbers 32:23 says, “…take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.” We see this played out in Cain’s actions. He killed his brother Abel. Genesis 4:10 says, “And He said, What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”
John 8. Some scribes and Pharisees brought an adulterous woman to Jesus seeking to have her stoned. Verse 7 Jesus said, “…He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” Verse 9 was their guilty conscience in action. It says, “…being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one…”
Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” Could it be that some unanswered prayer is because there is hidden sin?
David wrote Psalm 51 after his hidden sin with Bathsheba. Verse 3-4 says, “For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight…”
Lord, I want to thank You for giving us a conscience. It is a great governor and monitor on our thoughts and actions. Help us to walk in the power of heart integrity and the truth on Your word.
