One who walks in pride or humility is evidenced through their body language, their speech, and their actions. As we have seen, pride walks in disobedience with arrogant disregard to God’s word and ways.
Saul was supposed to wait for Samuel for seven days. When Samuel didn’t show up when Saul thought he should, he took matters into his own hands. As soon as he completed something in his own timing, Samuel showed up.
1 Samuel 13:13-14 says, “And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart…because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
How we error when we step out ahead of the Lord. What have you forfeited through your impatience? We do well to remember Moses’ example.
The path of obedience is strewn with grace. Therefore only the humble walk on it. We prosper when we wait for His timing. David wrote many Psalms that we can use his wording as our own personal prayers.
