The enemies of Judah were on their way to come against them. 2 Chronicles 20:12 says, “…For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

The Lord sent a Levite to speak His words to him. Verse 15 says, “…Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God.” Great words for us to remember. 

The Lord brought an amazing victory. He sent ambushes and defeated their enemies. Verse 32 says, “And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord. “

Yet he derailed at the end. He allied himself with a wicked king to make ships. Verse 37 says, “…Because you have allied yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has destroyed your works. Then the ships were wrecked…”

Ask: “Holy Spirit, are there any alliances in my life that are opposing God’s will and ways?” Finishing well glorifies Him.
