“On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Great hymn penned by Edward Mote. 1834. Timeless words.
The Lord inaugurated Joshua. In Deuteronomy 31: 23 He said, “…Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”
Four times in Joshua 1 the Lord commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous. He assured him over and over that He would be with him. We can camp on those same words. The Lord is our Hiding Place.
Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Colossians 3:3 says, “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” John 10:28 says, “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Run and hide in Him.
