Any fiery dart that penetrated our minds was seeded into our hearts. All are strategically designed to deceive us. Remember John 8:44 says of the devil, “…there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
All negative thoughts against ourselves, others, or our circumstances are fiery darts. When they come we can instantly switch gears by making our very next thought a thankful one. Think of driving a car. You drive up and stop your car. You switch gears from drive to park. When you want to leave, you switch gears from park to reverse.
A fiery dart always comes with a destructive intention. Yet we can quench it by proclaiming the truth that is eternal in nature. John 1:14 says of Jesus, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” 2 Corinthians 3:18. Inner transformation takes place as we behold His glory.
