God’s Treasure Chest Of Wisdom

Proverbs 2:7 says, “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.” How do we find that treasure chest? Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Therefore the question becomes: what is in my heart?

Proverbs 2 was King Solomon’s words to his son. Verse 1-2 says, “My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding.” We can make a personal application from this when we read it as the Lord talking to us.

Verses 3-4 are instructions for crying out, seeking, and searching for the hidden treasures of discernment and understanding. The fruit is found in verse 5. It says, “Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.”

We just discovered that the reverential fear of the Lord is our hidden key to opening His treasure chest of wisdom. Verse 6 concludes, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
