Why do we disobey? The I in prIde rebels against God. We see this in satan. Isaiah 14:12-14 says, “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!
For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.”
Ephesians 2:2 says, “In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air who now works in the sons of disobedience.”
This prince of the power of the air influences through deception. We have to remember Colossians 2:15 which says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Jesus died to set us free from satan’s sin-block of slavery.
John 8:44 says, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
