Setting Our Face~Part One

Though Jesus knew what would happen, Luke 9:51 says, “…He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem.” Nothing would deter Him. Verse 53 says, “But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.”

John 13:1 says, “Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world and go to the Father…” Verse 2 says that supper was ended. It was all set up for Judas to betray Him.

Verse 3 says, “Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hand, and He had come from God and was going to God.” He then washed the feet of His disciples, including Judas, His betrayer.

The scene was already set in motion. The detachment of troops and officers were on their way to arrest Jesus. John 18:4 says, “Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward…” No shrinking back. Luke 14:27 says, “And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”
